How to Build Backlinks on Easy Mode
The easiest strategy to generate backlinks and inbound traffic
Introduction
Creating content that deserves a backlink is hard.
Especially if you're trying to do it through blog posts.
It's 2025 and people just won't link to your stuff out of nowhere.
But there's a thing people actually still link to.
And I know this for a fact because I do it too.
It's nothing else but: FREE TOOLS
Let me show you what I mean:
I'm talking about these tools such as:
and so on.
They are completely free to use and they solve a very specific problem.
You'll also hear people call them "link magnets" because that's exactly what they are.
They attract backlinks so much better than any other content.
And they also bring in a lot of inbound traffic.
It's a win-win situation.
How to build free tools fast
If you have some prior coding experience then you should be able to create these tools pretty fast.
But if you're not a coder then don't worry.
We have tools like bolt.new that let you create Next.js apps just by prompting.
If you've never used Bolt then search up tutorials on youtube.
There's hundreds of them at this point.
AI has unlocked scale we've never seen before.
Real case study: Canva
Canva has completely demolished everyone in their space with this strategy.
As you know, it's an all in one image editor.
So they took out every use case separately and offered it as a "free tool"
I added the quotes because it isn't really separate form their main product.
Each tool has it's own page:
But that wasn't enough.
They needed to transfer domain authority juice to all of them.
So they created a big tools page where all tools are linked:
All of this worked extremely well for them.
Look, the results speak for themselves:
And that's not everything.
The tools don't just attract backlinks.
Canva's motivation was something else.
The backlinks were just a side-effect.
This strategy brings them around 3.5M monthly searches.
Madness.
